Description

Pearl's all-new PVC Ashiko drums are constructed using PVC for its light and durable characteristics and for its warm, round, full-body sound. Available in your choice of traditional Rope Tune or modern Top Tune styles. The origin of Ashiko drums can be traced back to West Africa and the Yoruba tribe. The Ashiko is a close relative to the djembe, and its sound is complementary to the djembe when played together in drum circles or ensembles.

The long-tapered cylinder of the Ashiko produces lower bass notes than djembes, with rich mid-tones. All models feature a 1-piece PVC shell with 21 tuning points and a 10" tucked collar synthetic head. The drums are 23.5" tall and include a rubber bottom edge protector.
