The Fender Custom Shop presents the ’60 Stratocaster Super Heavy Relic, and believe us, its name suits it perfectly. The two-piece select alder body is covered with a Heavy Relic lacquer finish in faded aged 3-Color Sunburst tones. This is the most intense Relic treatment, each imparting the appearance of a 1960 golden-era Stratocaster that hasn’t been handled gently for over six decades.
Its roasted maple neck features a 1960s Oval “C” profile that’s easy to play, topped with a flat-lam rosewood fingerboard with a 9.5″ radius, 21 jumbo frets (6100), and a bone nut. Three hand-wired Custom Shop 60/63 single-coil pickups bring out the best of the Strat® sound, with clear highs, singing mids, and tight lows, along with Vintage Modified #2 wiring and a Tone-Saver circuit (eliminates tone loss when volume is turned down).
Other premium features include a three-ply nitro shell pickguard, five-way pickup switch, Custom Shop vintage synchronized tremolo bridge, vintage-style tuners, high-metal spacer string tree, deluxe hardshell case, strap, and certificate of authenticity.
