Description
The first choice for experiencing acoustic-electric music.
Derived from the FG800, which has a solid spruce top and nato/okume back and sides, the FGX800C has a cutaway body and electrical system. Yamaha’s patented under-saddle piezo pickup and System66 analog preamplifier ensure solid plug-in performance.
Newly developed scalloped bracing
A new FG offers a louder, stronger sound in the bass and midrange, thanks to cutting-edge acoustic analysis technology developed by Yamaha’s R&D division. Yamahas engineers achieved this sound by using analysis and simulation to arrive at the best bracing design without relying on tradition or guesswork. This analysis led to the development of the new scalloped bracing pattern, an ideal new acoustic structure that maintains the durability of the top board while bringing out the most sound the Yamaha FG has to offer.
50 years of history
The history of the Yamahas FG series began in 1966 with the release of the FG180 and FG150. In the 50 years since its introduction, we have developed and produced several generations of FGs, all of which have made FG the ideal acoustic for contemporary musicians. In all, there have been over 200 FG models since 1966.
Every aspect of an FG is designed to make a better guitar. From carefully seasoned and dried woods to beautiful hand-sprayed finishes and detailed quality controls, every FG is made to be a partner for life.
Electrical system
The System 66 is equipped with an under-seat piezo pick-up developed by Yamaha. Controls include a 3-band equalizer, an adjustable mid-frequency control and a precision chromatic tuner for optimum sound matching. The system is powered by easy-to-get AA batteries that provide stable power for better sound quality.
