Description
She does it all and masters it all. The xtSA’s incredible sonic power is due to its three distinct voices: electric guitar, acoustic guitar and synth controller.
The xtSA offers intense electric tones with its Godin humbucker-simple-humbucker pickup configuration and a five-position switch that ranges from fat humbucker tones to glassy tones in the second and fourth positions. Switch off the electrical output and turn up the volume on the RMC transducers to transform the xtSA into an “acoustic” guitar with an incredibly authentic sound. The xtSA’s acoustic voice is enhanced by an integrated preamplifier and a three-band graphic corrector. The two-output configuration means that electric and acoustic vocals can be mixed directly on the guitar, or in the amplifier or mixer, using both outputs. The icing on the xtSA cake is the synthesized sensor which, quite simply, is the best in the industry. As with all Godin midi instruments, an integrated 13-pin connector provides direct access to all Roland GR series synths and most 13-pin machines.
This sound power would be much less interesting if this guitar were not comfortable. But with a 25.5″ tuning fork and mahogany neck (the same used on Godin’s LGX-SA), the xtSA is decidedly comfortable. The Richlite fingerboard was designed using Godin’s ergocut technique and is equipped with jumbo frets. The body is made of silvered maple with poplar ribs and a table decorated with a maple veneer or a figured table in KOA wood on the natural KOA model.
