Designed for speed, comfort and full-throttle attitude, the reimagined 5150® Deluxe series is an icon of the past that combines throwback and modernization features.
Like its predecessor, the 5150 Deluxe Poplar Burl features a Strat®-style modified basswood body with a deeper upper-body curve. The graphite-reinforced quarter-sawn maple neck features a comfortable modified “C” profile, hand-rubbed satin urethane back finish, heel-mounted adjustment knob and color-matched “field hockey stick” headstock with EVH® logo decal. Designed for smooth, fast playing, the 12″ to 16″ compound-radius ebony fingerboard features 22 giant frets and cream dot inlays.
Whereas the famous striped original had a single humbucking bridge pickup, the all-new 5150 Deluxe features an HH pickup configuration controlled by a three-way switch on the top of the neck. The custom-designed EVH® Wolfgang® Alnico 2 humbucking bridge pickup delivers the perfect amount of punch and articulation with smooth sustain and thick, chunky rhythms, all in a perfectly balanced EQ curve. The EVH Wolfgang Alnico 2 humbucker neck pickup serves up wall-to-wall balls and endless sustain without skimping on articulation when the volume is reduced. A custom-designed, low-friction volume knob creates even volume for the smoothest possible volume inflation, while the high-friction volume knob stays in place even if accidentally bumped. A new feature has been added, namely a lower Kill Switch button, which lets you mute your guitar for those stuttering rhythm effects – think “You Really Got Me”.
Equipped with a dive-bomb-certified EVH Floyd Rose® bridge, the lockable tailpiece features fine tuning for each string and a patented EVH D-Tuna® that allows you to switch from drop-D to standard tuning in an instant.
The 5150 Deluxe is a modern, stylish instrument designed to meet fans’ expectations. Its poplar burr soundboard, wrapped in Aqua Burst or Black Burst, is equipped with fully chromed parts, including Gotoh® mechanics from EVH.
