Description

The classic Dove-style acoustic guitar, first introduced at Gibson and Epiphone’s legendary Kalamazoo factory in 1962, became one of the first acoustic guitars to become a recognized rock and roll icon. Today, beginners and professionals alike can enjoy the classic Dove sound plugged in with the Fishman Sonitone preamplifier and Fishman Sonicore pickup system, designed and built with the integrity you’ve come to expect from Epiphone.

Unplugged, Epiphone’s Dove Studio can easily lead an acoustic band. But plugged in, Dove Studio can hold its own against drums and electric guitars.

While there are many guitars that claim to have a “historic” or “vintage” style, only one comes with a limited lifetime warranty and Gibson 24/7/365 customer service, as well as the experience of a century of guitar building. Start with the best. Visit your local Long & McQuade store and plug in to Epiphone’s Dove Studio Acoustic/Electric today.

Selected spruce wood

The Dove Studio Acoustic/Electric features a superb Violinburst color finish and a solid spruce top with white and black 5-ply binding. Spruce is a rich, complex wood that begins to breathe and improve with age, the more you play. The more you play, the better it sounds!

The back and sides of the body are made of selected maple for a bright, lively sound. The back of the case features a single-fold white border. The 25.5″ hard maple neck has a SlimTaper “D” profile and is glued to the body using a dovetail joint and TitebondTM glue.

The Indian laurel fingerboard is edged with a white ply and features a 12′ radius with 20 medium frets, a 1.68 saddle and pearl parallelogram inlays. The bridge is carved from Indian laurel and features pear-shaped dove inlays, just like the vintage models. The bridge saddle is compensated and made of imitation bone. Dove’s classic tortoiseshell-style pickguard is easy to spot on stage and is one of Dove’s most famous features.

Fishman Sonitone preamplifier and Fishman Sonicore microphone

Epiphone is proud to reintroduce the classic Epiphone Dove Studio Acoustic/Electric with the superb Fishman Sonitone preamp and Fishman Sonicore microphone system. Fishman is an industry leader in bringing true acoustic guitar sound to larger stages.

The Sonicore pickup is located under the bridge saddle. The Sonitone preamp is a rosette-mounted active preamp with easy-access rotary controls for master volume and tone adjustment. Now you can make your settings during sound check, and even fine-tune on the fly during your concert. No need to run back and forth to your amp or soundboard! At last, your sound is in your hands, where you need it. You can connect your Epiphone Dove Studio acoustic/electric guitar to the PA system or amp of your choice with a standard instrument cable.

Classic Epiphone equipment

The Dove Studio is equipped with Grover 14:1 mechanics and nickel belt knobs, a combination output jack/belt peg and factory-installed D’Addario Phosphor (12-53) strings.
