Description

The CAD M-179 Studio Condenser Microphone is a side address studio condenser microphone that provides the flexibility to handle any recording scenario while remaining cost effective. At the heart of the M-179 is a dual pattern version of the diaphragm found in the Equitek E-300. The 1.1" diaphragm yields a high SPL rating and a wide 10Hz to 20kHz frequency response. A variable pattern control dial allows users to select cardioid, omni-directional and figure 8 polar patterns. A 20dB Pad switch is used to provide higher headroom resulting in 143dB SPL. A high-pass filter switch eliminates noise and rumble below 100Hz. In addition to its rugged design, a stainless steel internal pop/EMI filter reduces noised do to plosive wind noise and sibilance. The microphone requires 24V or 48V phantom power.
